Legal

Terms of Use

Effective date: [DATE]

1. Your agreement with us

These Terms govern your use of the Aligned Us app and its related services. The service is operated by [FULL LEGAL NAME], registration number [NUMBER], at [REGISTERED ADDRESS, COUNTRY]. Contact: [SUPPORT EMAIL].

By affirmatively accepting these Terms during registration, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not create an account. Our Privacy Policy at [LIVE POLICY URL] explains how we process personal information. Acceptance of these Terms does not replace any separate consent required for sensitive information or marketing.

[IMPLEMENTATION CHECK: provide accessible Terms and Privacy links before registration, record the accepted Terms version, and separate optional consents.]

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 and legally able to enter this agreement. Provide accurate account information, including your age, use your own identity and keep important information up to date. Do not impersonate someone, use another person's account without permission, or create an account to evade a restriction.

Protect your credentials and notify us of suspected unauthorised access. You are responsible for your conduct through the account; this does not make you automatically liable for activity outside your reasonable control.

We may take proportionate steps to assess age, account misuse or suspected rule violations. [CONFIRM any verification procedure before describing it as an existing feature.]

3. What Aligned Us provides

Aligned Us helps members explore potential relationships using profiles, questionnaire comparisons, vision boards, discovery, mutual connections and messaging. Features may vary by release and availability.

Compatibility percentages reflect stated answers and preferences under our scoring method. They are not a likelihood of relationship success, a guarantee of compatibility, a professional assessment or a factual certification of another person. Responses may be incomplete, inaccurate or change over time.

A low score or a partner answer rated No does not itself exclude a person from discovery. Other eligibility, preference and safety rules can affect visibility. We do not promise a particular number of profiles, connections, replies or relationships.

Unless we explicitly identify a particular verification, do not assume a member's identity, background, intentions or statements have been verified. [CONFIRM whether any verification or screening exists and describe its limited scope accurately.]

4. Profiles, vision boards and Blind Chemistry

Members can view the parts of your profile made available through the service, including permitted questionnaire information and vision-board content. Upload content only if you have the necessary rights and permissions.

When you enable Blind Chemistry, your profile photo is blurred for other members before an active mutual connection under the feature's rules. A mutual connection unlocks photo visibility; a separate photo-release agreement is not required. Your vision board and other normally visible profile information remain available. This setting is not an anonymity guarantee.

[VERIFY released photo access, visibility after unmatching and whether any additional gallery rules apply. Align this section with the Privacy Policy and actual implementation.]

Do not upload sensitive identifying details such as your home address, financial information or identity documents to your member-facing profile or vision board.

5. Connections, messages and other members

Messaging is available through eligible active mutual connections. A connection does not oblige either person to respond, continue talking or meet. Respect another person's decision to stop contact.

You may unmatch, block or report through [VERIFIED CONTROLS]. Unmatching ends the active connection; blocking additionally restricts contact and visibility according to the described app behaviour. [CONFIRM exact effects, whether rematching is possible, and message retention before publication.]

Do not circumvent a block by using another account or contacting a member through information obtained from the service. The service is not an emergency-response channel. For an immediate threat, contact the appropriate emergency services.

6. Community rules

You must not:

  • Harass, threaten, stalk, bully or target others with hateful or discriminatory abuse.
  • Scam members, solicit money deceptively, commit fraud or promote unlawful activities.
  • Impersonate another person, materially misrepresent your age or identity, or operate deceptive accounts.
  • Upload or request child sexual abuse material, sexually exploit minors, facilitate trafficking or engage in coercion.
  • Share intimate content without the subject's consent, including manipulated or synthetic intimate imagery.
  • Publish pornography, explicit sexual imagery or sexual solicitation. [OPERATOR: confirm this proposed content standard and implement consistent moderation.]
  • Disclose another person's private information without authority, including private conversations or identifying information used to intimidate or shame them.
  • Infringe copyright, trademarks or other rights, including through vision-board images taken without permission.
  • Send spam, unsolicited commercial promotions or repetitive unwanted messages.
  • Scrape profiles, harvest member data, use unauthorised bots, bypass access controls, distribute malware or interfere with the service.
  • Reuse member photos, answers or messages for advertising, model training or other unrelated purposes without the necessary permission.
  • Abuse reporting tools, knowingly submit false reports or evade moderation measures.

Good-faith safety reporting, lawful disclosure to authorities, and exercising your legal rights are not prohibited by these rules.

7. Reporting, moderation and appeals

Report suspected misconduct through [VERIFIED IN-APP REPORTING PATH] or [SAFETY EMAIL]. Include enough information for us to identify and assess the issue; do not resend illegal material unnecessarily.

We may investigate reports and take proportionate action, including removing content, limiting features, suspending an account or terminating access. Relevant considerations include seriousness, context, repeat behaviour and risks to other people. We may act promptly when necessary to address an urgent risk or legal requirement.

Where required by law, and otherwise where appropriate, we explain the action and available review options unless doing so would compromise safety, an investigation or a legal obligation. To dispute an action, contact [APPEAL EMAIL/FORM] with the relevant account and decision details. [COMPLETE actual review process, available time limits and any legally required complaint or dispute mechanisms.]

[LEGAL REVIEW: assess applicable online-platform duties, including any Digital Services Act obligations. Do not claim automated detection, 24-hour review, background checks or a staffed moderation process unless verified.]

8. Your content and our limited permission to use it

You retain ownership of the content you upload or send. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free permission to host, store, reproduce, format and display that content only as needed to operate the service, deliver it to its intended recipients, maintain security and handle support or legal obligations. Service providers may process it for those purposes under appropriate arrangements.

This permission includes technical operations such as resizing a photo or creating a blurred version for Blind Chemistry. It does not give us a general right to use your profile in advertising or train unrelated AI models. Separate permission would be required for those uses.

The permission ends when content is deleted from our active systems, except to the limited extent necessary for disclosed backup expiry, legal obligations or handling claims. The Privacy Policy describes the actual retention arrangements. Copies independently saved by other members may remain outside our control.

You confirm that you have the rights and permissions needed to supply your content. You may report suspected intellectual-property infringement to [CONTACT], identifying the work, the relevant content and your authority to act.

9. Our intellectual property

We or our licensors own the app software, branding and service materials, apart from member content. We give you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable permission to use the app for its intended personal purpose while you comply with these Terms.

Do not copy or commercially exploit our service materials or reverse-engineer the software except where applicable law permits it. Nothing here restricts rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

10. Charges and app stores

[CONFIRM BEFORE PUBLICATION: the current release has no paid plans or in-app purchases. If correct, use the following paragraph.]

The current service is free to use. Your mobile operator or internet provider may charge for connectivity. If we introduce optional paid features, we will disclose the price and applicable purchase, renewal, cancellation and refund terms before you agree to pay. These Terms do not authorise automatic charges for future features.

Where you obtain the app through an app store, that store's applicable terms also apply to your use of its distribution or purchase services. These Terms govern your relationship with the Aligned Us operator and do not remove mandatory consumer rights.

[RELEASE CHECK: decide whether Apple's standard EULA or a reviewed custom EULA governs the app licence; reconcile store-required provisions rather than presenting this draft as a complete custom store EULA.]

11. Closing your account and restrictions

You can stop using the service at any time and request account deletion using [VERIFIED IN-APP PATH] or [LIVE WEB REQUEST URL]. Contact [SUPPORT EMAIL] if you encounter a problem. Uninstalling the app does not delete your account.

Deletion ends your access and is handled according to the Privacy Policy, including the disclosed treatment of messages, uploaded media, backups and any limited lawful retention. [COMPLETE the real timing and confirmation procedure.]

We may restrict or terminate access for serious or repeated violations, legal requirements or material safety/security risks. We will apply applicable notice and review rights. If we discontinue the service, we will give reasonable advance notice where practicable and honour applicable rights, including access or portability requests and any consumer remedies.

12. Availability and service changes

We aim to maintain a useful and reliable service, but interruptions, maintenance and errors can occur. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or that every member will behave appropriately.

We may make necessary changes for security, legal compliance, bug fixes or service improvement. Material changes affecting your contractual rights will be communicated appropriately. Where law requires notice, consent, termination rights or other remedies, we will provide them. We do not reserve a right to remove statutory digital-service protections.

13. Responsibility and consumer rights

You are responsible for your decisions and conduct when interacting with other members. We are responsible for our own obligations under applicable law. A compatibility score does not replace your judgment about whether or how to pursue a relationship.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, or any other non-excludable liability. Your mandatory consumer and data-protection rights remain unaffected.

For other losses, responsibility will be determined under applicable law. These Terms do not impose a blanket indemnity on you or waive claims arising from our own unlawful conduct.

[LEGAL REVIEW: tailor any further liability clause to the operator's jurisdiction and actual launch markets; do not insert an arbitrary zero-liability cap.]

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms for valid reasons, including changes to law, security requirements or the service. We will identify the updated date and give appropriate advance notice of material changes unless an immediate change is legally required or necessary to address an urgent risk. Where fresh agreement is required, we will request it.

If you do not agree to a material change, you may stop using the service and close your account. This does not remove any statutory remedy or right that applies to the change.

15. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Estonia. If you are a consumer, this choice does not deprive you of mandatory protections that apply under the law of your habitual residence. Court jurisdiction and available remedies remain subject to applicable mandatory law.

Please contact [SUPPORT EMAIL] if you have a complaint. You may also use any competent consumer dispute body or court available to you under applicable law. [INSERT verified applicable consumer dispute body and required information; do not insert the discontinued EU ODR platform.]

If one provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent allowed by law. Neither party loses a legal right merely by not exercising it immediately.
